What do they doHousing Hand provide the UK’s only guarantor service for students and professionals both domestic and international, who may, for various reasons, fail to provide a qualifying UK guarantor. Without a suitable UK guarantor, letting agents may be required to ask tenants to provide 6-12 months’ rent in advance to secure the rental property and even if they do so, the tenant may still be required to provide a guarantor. From the beginningHousing Hand was created after its founder, Jeremy Robinson, saw the demand in the housing market for a guarantor service based on a number of friends at university struggling to find accommodation due to failing to provide a qualifying UK-based guarantor. Housing Hand launched in February 2013 with just two directors and one employee, a very humble beginning, and embarked on a journey which has seen the company grow, move their central office into the heart of London and expand into Europe, Asia and the Far East. Though they now have competitors in the UK, they remain the market leader here partly due to the fact that they can cover all students and working professionals from the UK or abroad. Housing Hand now work with more than 3,500 accommodation providers around the UK and this number is growing daily. This market dominance in the UK has strengthened the company’s international relationships and provided the opportunity not only to partner with international companies looking to house tenants in the UK, but also to expand the locations they can stand as a guarantor for, including Ireland, France and more to come. |

How much does it cost?Prices start from just £295 for up to 12 months cover. The exact fee depends on several factors including the rent amount. Applicants receive a free, no obligation quote by making an application. The student fee will be between 60-95 % of their share of the monthly rent, subject to a minimum of £295. There are added benefits to students since they can expect a percentage of their fee back at the end of their tenancy as a rebate. This ‘money-back’ offer increases year on year with users of the service entitled to 15% of their fee back after one year of using the guarantor service, doubling to 30% of the second years fee and 45% in year three. |

Awards and accreditations
Housing Hand are covered by a Financial Liability Insurance Policy (in association with Gauntlet and Brit Syndicates at Lloyds of London). The Financial Liability Insurance is between Housing Hand Ltd. and Brit Syndicate. The purpose of the insurance is to not only comply with the FCA regulations, but also to provide accommodation providers, landlords and students with total peace of mind and financial security. |
